Prof. Huang Haibao is mainly engaged in the teaching and research work of air pollution control, industrial organic waste gas treatment, indoor air pollution purification and environmental catalytic materials. The VOCs high-efficiency catalytic oxidation system at room temperature was proposed for the first time in the fields of photolysis-catalysis, ozone catalytic oxidation/decomposition, nano-catalytic oxidation, low temperature plasma-catalysis and liquid phase catalysis. Important original research results have been achieved. ACS Catal. and Appl. Catal. B: Environ. and other international journals have published more than 40 SCI papers of him, which were cited more than 1000 times. He has applied for more than 20 national patents. He is the chief scientist of the national key R&D projects and has presided over more than 10 projects such as NSFC-RGC, National Natural Science Foundation, Guangdong Science and Technology Program and Guangzhou Science and Technology Program. He is the member of the VOCs Pollution Prevention and Control Committee of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, the member of the Indoor Environment and Health Branch, the technical expert of the Exhaust Gas Purification Committee of the China Environmental Protection Industry Association and the member of the VOCs Pollution Prevention and Control Committee of the China Environmental Protection Federation. He was awarded the National Excellent Person of the Innovative Achievements of VOCs Monitoring and Control in 2017, the Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences in 2016 and the Youth Academic Innovation Award of the VOCs Pollution Prevention and Control Professional Committee in 2015 (only 2 people can have this award) etc.
